Today I want to cycle to the south to Mali Losinj. Losinj is another island, but it's connected with Cres in a chain of islands and small bridges.
In the morning I need a rather long time till I have cycled above the long increase out of the bay and I am some hundred meters above the sea. As of now the street runs throughout the highland of the island. Due the height of the street here it's also very cold at some places. But it's also so cold because the temperatures of not more than 10°C are generally too cold for this season.
I have a broad view to the mainland and can see the snow-covered mountains which rise steeply over the sea with up to 1700 meters.

I cycle accross the highland and pass little, dreamy villages. Donkeys on the fields stare after me and two shepherds pull their sheep across the street. Altogether the landscape is very rich of changes. There are wide areas with bushes and rocks, big woods and some areas which remind me of photos from the Toskana. Particularly the villages are built in a very Italian style.

From the coast village Osor there is a beautiful view to the green overgrown mountain Osorscica which juts out of the wonderfully blue water. Here is the border between the islands Cres and Losinj which are separated by a small channel which was built in the antiquity.

I follow the coast street to Mali Losinj. In this time I make a small excursion to the "international" airport of Mali Losinj. Foreseen from a customs officer nobody is to see there.
South of the town Mali Losinj I find a nice camping site called "Camp Cikat". Since the high season still hasn't started, I find some space for my tend next to the water. In the evening I enjoy a great sunset from my tent.
